When did you first start shopping for baby?

How far along were you before you started buying/registering for baby items?

What was the first item you bought?

DH wants to wait until we find out the sex of the baby.

I want to start buying unisex items now.

With my dd I went out right after the sono when we found out the sex and I bought her this outfit i had fallen in loved with prior. Registering i didnt do until my family started yelling at me to start.. so that was about 2 months before my shower which was about 4months before my due date.

This time around were not finding out gender.. but I may go buy a few things when i have about a month left.. that way if its wrong gender i can still return before the return date expires.

We aren't finding out this time so until he/she is born, I am not buying much. If its a girl, she even has some brand new stuff in the closet that DD never got around to wearing.

I bought a onsie that was really cute and gender neutral at Gymboree but that's about it.

Well, I started 2 registries secretly after the ultrascreen.... I then kept changing my mind with big ticket items as I continued researching.

The first thing we bought was I believe the changing table (mom bought the matching crib). I would have done it later, but the company just released a very similar model, so I suspected the one we liked best would be discontinued soon... so we ran with it. I think I was 17 weeks?

At 19 weeks (a few days before the level II and knowing the gender), I bought the (gender neutral) coming home outfit. I was in sax off fifth and fell in love with it...

At about 23 weeks, we bought the carseat, once again becuase we thought it was being discontinued (this time I was wrong!).

then we waited for the shower......

I'm 19 weeks and haven't bought a thing, but we just found out a week ago what we are having.

I'm also very superstious and won't bring anything baby related into my house until she is born and home.

That's not to say that I won't buy anything and keep them stored elsewhere!

I started registering at 18.5 weeks. I finally completed the registry around 23 or 24 weeks.

The only thing I've bought is the bedding, but that's b/c I got it at a different store than where I registered. It was on sale so I decided to buy it. It hasn't arrived yet. Eventually, I'll buy furniture and some layette stuff. The furniture won't be delivered until after the baby is born. The rest of the baby items will be stored at my parents' house until after the birth.
