When did you share the big news?

I am HORRIBLE at keeping secrets about myself. I always said I wanted to wait until 12 weeks before announcing it to everyone other than our parents and siblings. The problem is - its KILLING me not to shout it from the rooftops!

DH and I discussed telling people after the sonogram on the 18th (I'd be at 7w1d) but even that feels so long away.

When did everyone else share their pregnancy with friends and family?

I told everyone right away. I couldn't keep it a secret- especially from the family.

I couldn't keep my mouth shut! I told everyone right away

I told most people the minute the stick was positive. We did IVF so everyone knew what was going on anyway.

we are telling our immediate families on mothers day but will hold off on telling everyone else (except my BFF who already knows) at the 12wk mark

we told our parents and siblings the day we got our bfp, and then told everyone as we saw then after our u/s at 7 weeks, as of this weekend everyone knows now

we had 2 previous losses and waited to tell all friends and most family at the begining of our 2nd trimester.
My mother and sisters knew right away as well as work bc of what i do.

I personally wouldn't tell outside people (beyond immediate family) before a sonogram @ 7 weeks.


But I'm on the paranoid side. I'm 4.5 months pregnant and still haven't told some people that I don't see often. I guess they will know when they get the birth announcement. LOL


Actually, after the level II I plan on telling everyone I know!

we told our parents and siblings a week after the BFP.. and then we saw all our immediate family for thanksgiving and we were about 6weeks we told them then... We felt that if something bad were to happen god forbid we would want their support!... all outside people waited till about 10-12weeks

told my parents, brother and sister the day after the BFP
I also told my two BFFs because I couldnt keep the secret anymore!
We decided that we will tell everyone else after our first Dr. appt.

I think that was one of the toughest parts of the pregnancy so far...keeping it a secret!

We told immediate family after our first appt and we also had a sonogram, about 7w3d. We told close friends about a week later between 8w and 9w.

Then we let everyone know at the 12w mark.

we are telling the family and close friends today.. i just cant wait. its eating me alive!

I am superstitious - we waited till the 12 week appointment and ultrascreen before we told anyone.

I am waiting to tell until 12 weeks to tell everyone, but I did tell my three BFF's. I know that if something went wrong I would need them. I tend to deal with things in private, so if something is goes wrong, I don't want to have to inform everyone.
