When did you start cereal, fruit and veggies?
If you only did cereal at 4,5 and 6 months and nothing else please note that as well.
Did you follow your Peditrician suggestion/instruction as of when to start or you did what you felt it was right?

Re: When did you start cereal, fruit and veggies?
My ped told me to give cereal on a spoon at 4 mos. I tried for 2 weeks. DS HATED it, but ate off the spoon, so I started him on veggies and an occasional fruit.

we skipped baby food with both girls. They both went straight to soft table foods.
My oldest was 7 months old and my youngest was 8 months old.

DS is 17 weeks and will be 4 months on Friday. We're seeing the doctor next week. At that point, we'll start him on cereal.

its funny, my ped put him on cereal at a month, i added the rest... my dh laughs because whenever the ped asks what he is eating i just say "the same as last time" and she tells me to keep it up for he is doing well... never mentioned the jars she would flip...

Re: When did you start cereal, fruit and veggies?
DD is/was EBF. I waited until I saw the developmental signs that she was ready for solid foods. This meant I made sure that DD could sit up by herself, that she lost the tongue thrust reflex, that she was showing interest in what DH & I were eating, and that her pincher grasp was developing.
As a result, IMHO, when I introduced DD to cereal she actually ate it instead of having to get used to it.
I gave her cereal 1x per day for two weeks before introducing a veggie. I then went through the stage one veggies one per week, and then after that I introduced oatmeal, then did stage 1 fruits at a rate of one per week.

it was funny that you mention that..after leaving the doctors offcie at his 3 month appointment, the doctor mention sthat "we'll talk about starting solids next month." I laughed to myself b/c I knew I was starting him that night on cereal. Not ever kid goes my the magic book of doctor spock child rearing. Some kids show they are ready for solids sooner than others or later than others. I feel that as a parent we are able to do what we feel is best for our children.

Re: When did you start cereal, fruit and veggies?
I started at 5 months. However ds wasn't ready. So we'd stop and then try again the next week and so forth. It probably wasn't until 6 months that he was really ready.

Re: When did you start cereal, fruit and veggies?
We started cereal in the bottle at about 3 1/2 months because of spit up issues. At four months we were told to start cereal on the spoon. Once he cleared all three cereals with no reactions we were allowed to start approved fruits and veggies... all as per our ped!
