When did you start using ovulation sticks?
I think I'm going to have to buy some for next month. I am def. out for this month (no AF yet but I know I am)
I really really want it get it right for next month - esp. for timing reasons. That would bring a July baby - and my DH is a teacher and could help out with my DS while I recover from a csection.
Which sticks do you recommend? Last time I bought from a website (can't remember the name but will do a search) and got the sticks from there.
Also, please refresh my memory - should I start using them on CD10 - or any earlier?
Thanks so much for all your help!
ETA: I just did a search and I used to buy the ovulation sticks from babyhopes.com. Does anyone still use this website?

Re: When did you start using ovulation sticks?
A lot of people find that following Deana's Plan is helpful.
Here is a link... Deana's Plan
PS: I use the CBEFM not O sticks so I can't be more helpful about that. Sorry.

My SIL has the CBEFM that she said I could borrow - is it really good? I have no experience with it - and new things scare me
I read the Deanna Plan the other day - this is something I am really going to try and follow!
This next month is going to be exhausting

I personally like the CBEFM but it does take a couple months to get used to your cycle. For example, my first month I had all low readings and then 2 peak readings (when I o'd) and 1 high after. Now after a few months, I had 3 high, 2 peak, 1 high after. I have only used OPKs once and I just prefered the CBEFM. It's all a matter of preference though. A lot of girls love the OPKs.
Deana's plan is exhausting but people swear by it. I have tried it before. The temping and CBEFM seems to be better for me although who knows since I am still trying.
Good luck and have fun!

Re: When did you start using ovulation sticks?
I use the Clear Blue Digital OPKs. It is a lot cheaper than buying a Fertility Monitor. It has a chart that tells you what day you should start testing based on how long your cycle typically is.

Re: When did you start using ovulation sticks?
I recommend the CBE digitals.
If you know how long your cycles are, you probably don't need to start testing as early as CD 10. It will tell you in the instructions when to begin testing based on your cycle length

Re: When did you start using ovulation sticks?
I love the CBE digitals. I have the CBEFM monitor now.
I have extra that I got from Ebay. I only opened them because it came with a free pregnancy test. Of course I got AF so if I don't need them next month I will offer the first person all the extra's for free. I have all seven in that come in the box plus more from another box.

Stupid question - the CBE digitals - is something different then what is used with the monitor right?
Do you still have the extras? I think I'm going to try these out!

Re: When did you start using ovulation sticks?
My cycles are a bit shorter (usually 26-27 days but sometimes 25 or 28) so I started testing on day 9 (counting from 1st day of period). I wanted to try day 8 but forget Still think I was "ok" missing it.
Last time with DS I O'd on day 12.
How long are your cycles?
If you are 28 days. I would start day 9 or 10 to be on the safe side.

Re: When did you start using ovulation sticks?
I used the Answer OPK and my cycle was 28 days...I started on day 9 just to be on the safe side. I used them in the morning and then after work every day until I saw the LH surge... I only used them for the one month b/c I got my bfp 2 weeks later.

My cycles range between 30-34 days. Today is CD 32 and still no AF - but I feel her coming any second now.
This morning when I did a seach for the websites that I used with Jack - I found out that I surged on CD18 - which is actually much later I think I remember.

Re: When did you start using ovulation sticks?
According to my OPK test, if you are cycles are 30 days, you should start testing 13 days from the 1st day of your period.
Honestly, not to miss it I would start at day 11 or 12. My OPK came in a package of 7. So you may need several packages.
