Didn't swaddle dd.
With ds we did until he was breaking out of it every night. I forget how old he was.

About a week after DS came home. He hated his arms in the swaddle so we stopped doing it.

OK...then another question. How did you know DC hated to be swaddled? She sounds like she wants out..then passes out. Im not sure if all that grunting is because shes trying to break free

I can't remember with DS1 (I suffer from CRS ). DS2 is 5 1/2 months and is still swaddled at night. He really sleeps great and will pass out within minutes of being swaddled. He was 6 1/2 weeks early though so is only about 14 pounds right now.

I think around 3-4 months. That's when we would start finding an arm or 2 out in the morning.

We stopped at 4 1/2 months, but we didn't have much chose in the matter. Otherwise we would have kept doing it until he started breaking out.

If she fights you initially but then falls right asleep and hasn't broken out of it by the morning, then I think you can keep swaddling.
DS is 9 months and still fights me when he is way overtired and I hold him close and tight to try to settle him down, but once he is settled, he falls right to sleep.

My DD loved the swaddle. We kept her in it for a long time! I can't even remember when we stopped. We eased her out of it slowly by leaving her arms free, then stopped it altogether within a week or so.

Around 3 mos. He started breaking out of it, and then he grew out of the halo sleep sack to the point tat I couldn't even close the velcro, so I gave up

we swaddled late, I think we stopped around 7+ months (Naps were longer)
DS was swaddled with a rec blanket and would break out immediately but it was part of his routine and signled bedtime to him so we kept it going.
ETA: we did it until he was ready and there were no transition issues at all!

I agree, DS used to "fight" me a bit, but whenever I tried non swaddled, he would be awake before even hitting the mattress, his arms would flail around and he would wake himself.
