When did you stop using the changing table?

DS's dresser is his changing table, I have the changing pad on one side. He's 8 1/2 months, and it's getting more and more difficult to change him on there. He pushes himself up with his legs causing him to hit his head on the side of the dresser, turns himself over, grabs for EVERYTHING on the dresser, etc.

What age did you stop using it? What did you use in its place? Floor, bed, etc?

Thanks!

We still use the changing table. DS is 22 months old. But, we have used other places, ie. couch, floor, bed. Of course with a changing pad underneath! Chat Icon

DS is almost 21 months and we are still using it. He is just at that age were it is fun to wiggle. It does end in a few months.

At 7 months, Lucas is starting to move around more and I find that I have to give him things to distract him. I have a feeling that we will be removing the changing pad in the next few months. I guess we'll have to use a pad on the floor or bed at that point.

I still use it at 16 months but I wont say he lays there and cooperates. He sits and stands up and I'll dress him that way.

Re: When did you stop using the changing table?

I'm still using the changing pad at 12 months. That doesn't mean DS sits or lies still - he usually tries to flip over and crawl on top of the pad - so it's a lot of holding him still, etc. I'm going to use it as long as possible though because it is incredibly convenient. I just have to continually monitor DS and hold him.

Re: When did you stop using the changing table?

Somewhere around 15 months or so. DD moves so much, and always wants to stand. It's just easier, faster, and safer for us at this point to not use the changing table.

Re: When did you stop using the changing table?

I stopped a long time ago, I just change them on the floor, because they flip over so much, that I was more afraid of them falling off the table.

13 months and still using it. I put her head away from the things she can reach. I give her a soft rattle or stuffed toy that sings and she's pretty good most of the time.

Whenever I'm not using the table she runs away naked!!!

Re: When did you stop using the changing table?

Marron is 20.5 months and we still use it. She does flip over, sit up, stand, etc. But I just work with her. It is alot easier on our backs to change her there. Also, when I've tried using the floor, the couch or the bed, she is even worse with flipping and running. This is really the only place she's ever been changed/dressed, so she is used to it. I don't see us ending it anytime soon.

Re: When did you stop using the changing table?

we use the one on the PNP, so I am taking it off of her dresser, she wont stay still most of the time on there anyway, too distracting, but the PNP she stays nice and still or floor, etc.

Never used one. I use a changing pad. Our bedrooms are upstairs and I didn't want to go upstairs everytime I changed a diaper.
