8 wks, only because i was throwing up throughout the day and people were starting to talk. I don't exactly look like I'm bulimic...

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

I told them at 8 weeks (when we got back from christmas break). There was no hiding it... the nausea was horrible, I wasn't eating how I normally eat and I was exhausted. They would've figured it out. I'm really close with my coworkers so I had no problem telling them that early.

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

I work with mostly men, with my sister and for my dad, so many of them knew already.

Yesterday I told my office mate- who had already figured it out, and the rest of the women in the office, which some had figured it out...lol

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

i told my direct supervisor at 8 weeks. I didn't know if i'd have m/s and didn't want him to think i was just being weird if i had to run out of a meeting, etc...

I came out to everyone else at 12 weeks.

With my first child, I waited 12 weeks but with this second one, I had no choice but to tell at 10 weeks---I was showing---big time!

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

I told my job at 6 weeks after my RE confirmed it. My boss knew I was going through IVF so she kept asking. If I were to get PG naturally next time I'll tell her right away also. I'm very close to her.

At around 12 weeks. Though one of my supervisors new early on, since I was so sick. I needed to tell someone. The men didn't catch on.

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

I am 14 weeks and I haven't said a word. I don't think anyone has any idea. I'm not showing, I didn't have m/s, I just look sleepy. I might tell them next week. We'll see....

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

I forget the exact week but it was after my 20 week ultrasound. I think I was 21-22 weeks. I wasn't showing yet and my boss was so surprised.

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

I wanted to wait until 12 weeks, but I told a few close co-workers at 8 weeks because it was hard to hide the m/s. I told my boss at 10 weeks because I've already popped.

I told my 2 bosses at 12 weeks, my good friend at work right away and I've been telling everyone else as it becomes appropriate topic of conversation...It's not a secret but I'm not the type to send an email blast or even bring it up for water cooler talk KWIM?

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

I officially announced at work at 12 weeks. By 11 weeks, I stopped trying to hide it. It just wasn't worth the effort.

I told my manager firsth though before everyone else because I wasn't feeling well, I was exhausted, and couldn't get to work on time in the morning. The guilt of that alone was stressing me out.

But after I told him, I felt so much better. And for him, looking back, everything I had been doing made so much sense to him!

The VP of our group said he knew about 3 weeks before I announced. Honestly though, anyone who was even paying half-attention could have figured it out.

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

My office knew almost immediately since I had to take time off for IVF. They all knew when I was going for my results. I found it easier to tell them early on...

Same here - I find it really weird to bring it up in conversation.

I told my boss and the rest of my 5-person department at 12 weeks 3 days and it's been trickling out to everyone else since (I'll be 19 weeks on Friday). I had mentioned something on facebook a few weeks ago and a few people from work are my friends, so I was obviously out. Now it's just a matter of people finding out on their own.

The chief exec still doesn't know though and I feel like I should tell him, but don't really know how...Chat Icon

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

IM going on 6 weeks and i told my boss. only b/c i need to take days off for appointments and if i start taking too many personal days he will complain. i live in pa, work in nY so most of the time getting an evening appt or weekend is not an option. I figured i should tell him so he knows why i ask for personal days over the next few weeks.

he has been sworn to secrecy..LOL.

Re: When did you/will you tell work...

With DS I told at 12 weeks. This time, I don't know. I'm at a different job and my boss has good days and bad. I never know her mood. One of my co-workers knows but that's it for now. It's going to be hard though because I feel like I am showing already but luckily, I'm big to begin with so maybe everyone thinks I'm just gaining weight. I'd like to try to wait until 12 weeks again.
