When did your babies sit up for long periods of time unassisted?
Both Sydney and Chloe can sit on their own, but not for very long. On the bed yes, but on the floor, as soon as they go to reach for an out of the way toy, they flop over and FREAK OUT. Yet they are also frustrated simply laying on their backs/belly.
I tried the boppy behind them, they just face plant instead  .
Noah sat up EARLY...was sitting unassisted completly by 5 months...and I remember that being early, so just wondering when I can actually walk away while they sit.

5.5 months and i was able to walk away from her, not be near her etc.

ian is 6.5 months and cannot sit unassisted. he'll topple after a few minutes.
ETA i think DS's big head makes him topple tho.  once he looks down...he fall over!

With both of my DC it was when they were about 6 months old.

kj will be 8 months on the 9th and he can sit alone for maybe 5 minutes or so, he still falls over pretty frequently

somewhere between 6 and 7 months (i was still surrounding her with pillows for a while after 6 months, but cant remember when i stopped).

DS was an early sitter too. Not sure exactly when it started, but I have pictures from December which would've been about 4.5 months. I continued to put him in the boppy or a few pillows around until about 6 months.

6 months. She could sit forever. She couldn't get to sitting though. I had to put her in the position.

I would say around 7 months(I think my boys were born around the same time as your girls? Almost 5 weeks early...have you tried the bumbo

yeah they have great neck control, were in the bumbo since like 3 months, till yesterday when Chloe decided to propel herself out of it and head plant into the hardwood floor  So shes not allowed in it anymore
Sometimes they can sit for 30 minutes fine, its just they totally lose their balance if somethings out of reach or to the side of them....And Chloe cannot sit still for more then a second...shes always moving, leading her to fall over.
I know they may be a month behind or so in milestones, so I'm nto worried, but kinda looking forward to the day , as they are getting bored.

this is how my dd was. She sat really early 4 months 3 weeks... but she wasn't stable where I could leave nothing behind her till she was 8 months!!! I knew she COULD sit for up to half an hour at times, but other times she would get really excited and fall back. Or she would start butt scooting and then topple back. I didn't start to worry about it till she was 8 months and I was thinking that after 3 full months of sitting maybe she should be stable all the time by now... It was so funny because I asked my ped at the 8 month visit and he said not to worry, and literally from then on she stopped falling entirely. I never thought I would be able to walk away with nothing behind her, but now I totally can, she never falls. But it def took my dd a while to be "stable"
eta- you can see in my pic I have the boppy behind her.. she was 7 months there
