When did your baby hold his/her head up?

Around when were they able to support their head/neck by themselves?

Just curious because Lily is certainly getting a lot more control!

Re: When did your baby hold his/her head up?

Hmm, from day one, she had really good head control, I'd say around 8 weeks, she could hold her head up completely on her own.

Ava's been pretty quick to reach her milestones, correct?

He was holding his head up from day one. Now at 4 weeks old, he's able to hold it pretty steadily for a few minutes before he gets tired.

DS was lifting his head before we left the hospital, and at about 6 weeks was holding it for 5 seconds at a time. He is 9w tomorrow and can hold it up long enough to sit in the bumbo seat comfortably.

Good to know! Lily's always had pretty good control of her neck, but today I put her in the Bumbo seat and was amazed how well she was able to sit there and hold it up! She's like a new little baby.

Same here with all 3 of my kids. As newborns they could hold their heads up for maybe 10-15 seconds. Around 6-8 weeks they had total control.

I was going to say the same thing. But Kaitee also crawled at 6 months and walked by 10 so I know she does things a little faster.

Re: When did your baby hold his/her head up?

My son has been holding his head up already and he is only 4 weeks old. He has been doing that since he was like 2 weeks old. He is a really strong baby. He also can roll onto his belly and kind of lift himself up if he is on his stomach. He is gonna be just like his daddy!
