When did your child first smile?
How old was your child when they first started smiling at you. Megan will give sporadic smiles but nothing steady. She is 6 weeks old now and I thought a more "steady smile" would have been happening already. She will smile at this one sound grandma makes at her and sometimes just randomly smile at me. Is she on track or is she late?

Re: When did your child first smile?
I'd say she's on track. DS would smile sporadically and then by 6 weeks he was smiling a little more steadily. I'd say he's on track.
Some babies are giggling at 4 months. DS is 4 months and isn't just yet. Once in a blue moon he does give a little laugh.

Re: When did your child first smile?
Maybe steady isnt the right word LOL..I am so tired I cant even think straight!
I mean, she doesnt smile all the time. Not that any child does, but its like she doesnt smile at the same thing all the time and its still very random. Sorry.

Re: When did your child first smile?
Totally normal Noreen. Ava didn't start smiling voluntarily until about 7-8 weeks. It felt like forever that it took to get her to smile, but now, at 16.5 weeks, she smiles these huge, toothless grins and laughs and squeals. It's worth waiting for
