Re: When did your toddler start to talk?

My DD has always been verbal. She started with some words around 15/16 months, by 19 months I couldn't even keep track of how many words she knew and she was also saying short 2-3 word phrases, and by 22 months she was speaking in 3-4 word sentences and since she turned 2 in Sept. it's been non-stop talking. For months she's been saying 6-8 word sentences and grouping 2-3 sentences together. She asks a lot of questions now too. It's really cute being able to communicate with her so easily now. Chat Icon

Re: When did your toddler start to talk?

I think my son may be advanced with talking/words. At 9-10 months he had quite a few words and sounds. Now at 16.5 months he has a very big vocabualry and will repeat everything I tell him. He also says new things everyday that were not even taught to him but were just picked up. Last night he was saying" gime cake cake cake" and noone ever taught him that word. We were eating it and he must have just put 2and 2 together. The night before he asked for corn (we were eating it) and I realized he recognized it frm a movie!!! He is still not really forming sentences though but def able to communicate!

My son has probably learned the most through books.
