When do I have to contact the church for the christening?
I'm due on 11/11...and have no idea what I have to do...and we live in PA now so things may be different here, but I just wanted to check with you girls to see what you all did.
Do I have to contact them in advance? Or, only when the baby is born?
We're both catholic, but not really churchgoers...

you usually need to register with them a few months in advance...some ask that you meet with the priest and attend a class at the church..

I went to see our priest when I was 7 months pregnant. We baptized him when he was 3 weeks old. Your more than likely going to have to go to a meeting to discuss the process as well

You'll have to register at your church.. which is just them getting your information and giving you envelopes for donations. They may (they did this at my church) give you sponsor forms for your godparents to have filled out. When you go, you should say that you attend church, but didnt know you had to register.

Give the church you want to have the christening at a call. They will tell you how they work. They might have different rules there.
