When do I start feeind her non-puppy food?
My puppy will be 1 next month and although I feed her grilled chicken mixed with her food ( I know, I'm bad) and she eats only part of her dry food, I'm wondering when I switch to something other than puppy food? TIA

My vet had my dog off of puppy food before she was 1 because of the extra fats etc. Basically she told me whatever the dog doesn't need as fuel ends up being "passed". I also noticed a decrease on "picking up" once I switched. I think most vets have you keep them on puppy food until they are a year.

Our vet had us switch to adult food at one year. My dog hated his food but we kept at it, and he would eat when hungry. We didn't want to start a bad habit.

After 1 year i think they are no longer considered puppies. The read difference between the two is puppy food has a lot more fat in it

Maddie turned one last week and about a month ago we mixed a bag of puppy food with adult food.
We're just about at the end of the mix and probably will buy a very small bag of the puppy food tonight when I pick her up from camp to mix with the adult food (the original mix we made was about half/half).
