When do I think about birth control? (Making my point a bit more clear now)
As I posted before: I am a big fan of sex. (Liza, no need to call me a slut again. I know it. ) I am BF and DS is now a month old. Since this delivery nearly killed me, I'd rather not get PG soon. Am I supposed to be using BC now?
Adding: My bad. I did not mean that I couldn't get PG when BF. I just meant to ask when I was supposed to consider birth control again. 6 weeks it is! Now I know.

Re: When do I think about birth control?
You're supposed to abstain for 6 weeks (v-birth). At my 6 week appointment, my ob/gyn brought it up.
Contrary to popular belief, you can get pregnant while bf'ing.

Re: When do I think about birth control?
Ask all the women who got pregnant the first time they "got intimate", while BF, how easy it is to get PG again....

Don't tell on me. We did it one time and now I'm scared to death of doing it again.

Re: When do I think about birth control?
When I went to the DR to have my staples removed he said that we would discuss birth control at the 6 week appointment.

Re: When do I think about birth control?
You are "supposed" to refrain from sex for the 1st 6 weeks. At your 6 week checkup with your dr., she/he will ask you about BC.
That's what mine did!

Contrary to popular belief, you can get pregnant while bf'ing. ITA. Even with a c-section you have to abstain from vaginal intercourse for at least 6 weeks until your PP checkup. You absolutely can get PG while BFing, since you will not know when you O for the first time & cannot accurately chart if BFing.

Re: When do I think about birth control?
Alright ladies, but according to my poll, many of you had sex before the 6 week mark. You know who you are!!!

Ask Britney. I am CONVINCED someone told that girl she couldn't get preg while BFing and that's why those kids are so close
Anyway, I think you can use the mini-pill if you are BFing, but not the "regular" pill.
(BTW, I'm a slut too, we totally did it before 6 weeks was up, but I was on pelvic rest for more than 20 weeks )

I would definately get it at your 6 week check up. Especially if you don't want any surprises.

First of all you are too funny
Second you dont have to wait for the full 6 weeks if you feel "alright" down there.
I am EBF and not on anything. I am just going with the flow you know.
