When do schools post openings for next year?
Also, when should I look to apply to schools?
While I am enjoying my year and like my school...I want to keep my options open for next year.
ETA: I am most interested in NYC schools...but would look into LI schools too.

I usually see the first posting for next year in February, they seem to increase a lot in March, April, and May.

exactly...
and it can go later too - my current position wasn't listed until June, but they knew in January - they were getting a new principal and wanted her to do the hiring.

Depends on the area. NYC typically doesn't post until late spring/early summer, but I see postigs for LI districts earlier.
What's your certification?

1-6, but I've been teaching 6th grade math and would like to stick with it.
