when do they stop using car seat?
at what age/weight do you stop putting a child in a carseat/booster seat? thanks!

They have to be in a booster(bottom only) until they turn 7 years old.

I think the recommendation is 8 yrs/80 lbs/4' 9'' or up to the booster seat capacity.
There is an exception for school buses, taxis, limos.

How are kindergarteners and 1st graders allowed on a bus then?
I know it is crazy, right? I have an 8 year old so I just went through this. They do not even require them to wear a seatbelt on the bus if you can believe that one

Buses don't have shoulder straps, just lap belts. There is no benefit to having a booster seat with just a lap belt. The booster raises DC's torso to match the shoulder strap path better. Same with airplanes.

I live in GA. and the law here is 4"10. It does not go by age or weight any longer since it's about a height issue. My DH's aunt is 4"10 and we joke that we need to put her in a booster.
