when do you do your fall planting?
i have some beds i want to add to, fix up, replace some plants that didn't make it. i know it's not great to plant in the hot weather... so when's a good time in the fall? when do the nurseries get all new stuff in?

Re: when do you do your fall planting?
I usually put chrysanthemums in around mid-September. I think nurseries have them now, but I like to put them in when it's a little cooler. Not sure it's necessary though.
Bulbs I plant in late October to early November, depending upon the temperature. If it's a warm autumn, you should wait and do it later. It's also a good time to divide perennials and move some plants if you don't like the current location.
