When do you start to "could not care less" at work
TODAY is the day.
For some reasons, I am always training people.
Well, no exceptions this time, I have benn training a co-worker for several months on one aspect of my job.
Then I had to train a temp for the "basic" stuff while I will be gone. One started 2 weeks ago but we had to "fire" him for "inaptitude" to do anything. Then we got a great temp last week (of course, new training again). Well, she decided to quit tonight....2 freaking days before I go on maternity leave (assuming this baby still decides not to come early). What bugs me is that she actually quit last Friday. Which would not have been TOO bad. We would have had a new temp on Monday. But she changed her mind and decided to stay. We only found out from the temp agency today. Then decided to quit again.
I feel tired, dragging myself just to go to work, trying to leave a status on all pending issues... but no... now I have to train another temp tomorrow morning. The day before my last day.
I honestly don't care if this person is ready or not....
OK.... vent over!

I'm impressed that you lasted this long. If I were at my old job I would have zero patience at all to deal with that and pregnancy.

I am honestly just hanging on because I want to use my FMLA time as much as possible with the baby.
Otherwise, I would have been on bed rest a LONG time ago. I get paid 75% of my income while on STD.

Re: When do you start to "could not care less" at work
Are you starting your maternity leave today?
I worked up until last week when Dr. said baby was not gaining enough weight, need to stop working/commuting into the city. I couldn't just leave, I went back to work to finish up, took the next day off and then went back in to finish up loose ends. While I was there, there is this one woman who is a PITA and kept putting meeting w/ me off. I was only there to show her the status of the things I was working on I realized no one cared that I was pg and now had a concern! In a way, I thought I'd be praised for going in... I say, gotta look out for YOU. Sorry your temp didn't work out, that sux. Enjoy your next few days at home and rest up- that's what they told me

This is me too. I am STILL working, my due date is today! I plan on working until I go into labor, so I can save my time for after with baby. But unlike you, my job is great and really not stressful (thankfully), but I am REALLY over getting up and getting ready, then sitting in HORRENDOUS traffic all morning It's getting old. Oh, and comments DAILY from 50 co-workers along the lines of "oh, you're still here?" and "wow, you're really popping"...they may send me over the edge.
We can co-miserate together

Re: When do you start to "could not care less" at work
I had no patience at work about halfway through the pregnancy. I have an extremely stressful job and since was diagnosed with high blood pressure I had more than twice as many dr appts (both ob/gyn and regular dr), growth sonos, etc. My job gave me an extremely hard time about leaving even though it was unpaid time. Needless to say, I didnt care less...I actually got a note from the doctor that I wasnt allowed to take phone calls (I work in sales/csr service-incoming call basis).
What did I do all day? I blew up balloons for contests and distributed papers..easiest money I ever made!!

Re: When do you start to "could not care less" at work
I've been really irritable this pregnancy and go through stages where I want to fire all my staff. I haven't officially checked out but I'm close at 25 weeks
