I can't remember what I did with DD - but DS is 6.5 months old and I still have him on Stage 1 fruits and veggies. He likes everything except peas. When did you switch to Stage 2's and did they eat less since the jars are bigger??

i had DD on stage 2 since about 5 months or so. The servings are just bigger. Do you notice if he is hungry still after a stage 1? If so I would move him to stage 2.

Isn't stage 2 also the mixed foods (apple & banana), etc.? I'm going to ask my ped. at our visit on Thursday.

We're about to start our fourth jar of Stage 1 (we've had carrots, pears, applesauce, and tomorrow we have sweet potato) Once we've gone through them all we'll move on. So I would say in another month or so- when he's about 6 months.

My ped. gave me the go ahead at his 6 month visit on Friday. Besides being bigger portion there are more varieties and blends (we are trying magos today Chat Icon) . The meat dishes are also in stage 2.

I read somewhere that you start stage 2 when they double their birth weight.

Re: when do you switch to Stage 2 foods?

I tend to skip a lot of the "rules" and just go with what seems good at the time. I switched him to stage 2 about 3 days after trying stage 1. I just noticed they are a little thicker and bigger portions. He has had zero problems.

But...he gags when trying squash. Literally heaves. Lol. I have stayed away from berries per others recommendations, but all else we've tried. We started stage 2 around 5 months.
