When does the teacher assignments come?

I don't even really care about what teacher they have, but I have no clue when school starts, what time the bus comes, where the bus picks up, what time school lets out, etc etc etc. They said I will get a packet before school and it won't be sent out until the week of the 30th. Isn't that a bit late?? I feel like I need to make sure that I don't have to have someone else bring them to the bus stop and who will be there for them, but that all depends on the time?? I just don't get it. Is this a normal time period for stuff to be mailed out 7 days before school starts?

Yes, unfortunately it's pretty normal to get your info that late.

Regarding pick up time, maybe ask a neighbor? It sucks to have to arrange your morning or after school schedule with so little time to plan.

Our district elementary schools also mail on Aug 30th this year, middle schools about a week before that and high schools about a week before middle school.

Go to your district website, they will have the start and end times for the schools there.

We received kindergarten teacher assignments the first week in August. We did not receive anything about the time the bus would arrive, but my neighbor has already clued me in.

Most of my neighbors go to the other elem school or have older kids. I tried the website and at least found the start and end time of school, which is 9:05 to 3:35, what a strange time. I just can't find any bus info, guess I will have to be patient. I also thought my niece who lived next door had a bus stop at my corner 8 years ago but have not seen one kid there since she went to the jr high.

The bus stops change year to year depending on need. You may very well end up with a bus stop right in front of your house!!

(If you get a chance, FM me which school the boys are going to. My friends son is starting K as well in the same district, and she subs in all the schools .)

My daughter will be starting K in Smithtown. I havent received anything regarding teacher or bus information. Im a little curious whats going on with that!!

We always get the school info about a week before school starts.

We got our teacher assignments at teh end of July. They said they usually send it out earlier but this year there was staffing changes. We got a info packet with lots of school info awhile back, before parent orientation. And had parent orientation in mid-June. No word on bus stuff - I think that is like the week or so before - that all comes from bus company from what I hear not school. My neighbors have given me a general idea of the time and I can tell from seeing they where the bus stops (my corner).

So far I haven't received anything in the mail. DS is in elementary school in Connequot SD.
