when freezing meals
is it better to just prep and freeze or actually cook the meal and freeze?

Re: when freezing meals
i think it depends on what you're making. like i freeze stuffed shells... but i don't bake them before i freeze them, i just cook the pasta and stuff them with the cheese mixture and then freeze them. no sauce or anything. when i want to eat them, i put the sauce on them and bake them. BUT, with other things, like stews that i make in the crockpot, i'll cook them completely and then freeze them to reheat later.

Re: when freezing meals
it totally depends on what you are cooking. anything with a sauce or gravy will freeze easily. Anything with rice, pasta or veggies in a sauce or broth will get mushy when reheating, so you could freeze and add pasta or rice to soup when reheating.
I've frozen cooked meatloaf and it was great. I've frozen cooked breaded chicken cutlets and grilled chicken breasts.
I also freeze pancakes, waffles, and NY bagels when we get them.
