I personally could not bring myself to buy clothing (under garments, bathing suits, probably not even a coat) or shoes .
my MIL and i have been hitting a few yard sales the past few weekends, since she is a grandma for the 1st time. She babysits the baby a few days a week and wanted toys. I can't believe the great deals you can get on toys and books!! All that stuff is really great to buy b/c you can wash it off and its totally usable. We steer clear of things that are fabric, or stuffed animals. things you can't clean easily.
Car seats are another thing I probably wouldn't buy though. i think they have a "shelf life" but i could be wrong.
Never any food.... I can't think of anything else at the moment.

I can't think of anything specific. I would put anything you are willing to part with out there to sell. People will really buy anything!
I know it's not a garage sale, but a friend of mine put a used shower curtain on ebay and someone bought it! it wasn't even her shower curtain, it was left by the previous owners of her house!! Gross!

yes! people will buy ANYTHING
i have even sold BROKEN items. yes, you read right. i have SOLD broken tvs, stereo, and vacuum cleaner (although the vacuum was an easy repair).
i sold my wedding dress at the last yard sale i had.
i would not sell stained clothing.
