Re: When is the earliest you can test?
some people here have gotten + at 8dpo however i think that would be very very rare. i would try to wait until AF is late (although I cant seem to follow my own advice).
Good luck!

Re: When is the earliest you can test?
you can theoretically get a BFP up to 5 days before AF is due.
but in my opinion, it really depends on how emotionally prepared you are to get a BFN, even if it's from testing too early. i used to test up until AF, from about 10dpo on, but it got so devastating to see the BFN that i stopped and just waited for AF to arrive.
the month of my BFP i was SO sure that i was pregnant that i gave in and tested one day before AF was due. BFN - and i was more devastated than ever and vowed NEVER, EVER to test before AF again NO MATTER WHAT!!!! i waited until the day after AF was due to test, and got a VERY faint line at that time.
i think the timing of your BFP also depends on your cycle. for example, i ovulate late in my cycle and have a shorter luteal phase (11-12 days), so i was implanting right around AF time - hence the late positive. other people who ovulate earlier / have longer LPs may implant sooner and get BFPs sooner.

Re: When is the earliest you can test?
I just did IVF and got a very very very very faint + at 8dpo...did I say how faint it was LOL. I have since tested like 100x and the lines got much darker. I'm 12dpo today and the lines are much more visible. I used answer, first response and clear blue easy. I got the 8dpo positive on an answer test.

This is why I will not test until and unless my period does not come. Last month I was hysterical when it did. I just can't do that to myself any earlier than I have to. This cycle, I am much more prepared. I am sure I will be plenty sad if I am not PG, but I am in somewhat of a better place emotionally.
