When it comes your time...
So as a few of you know I have PCOS. I was lucky and the Metformin, Clomid, and IUI combo worked and I am now in the middle of my 14th week.
So I am on the phone with my mom fretting the results of my ultrascreen (checks for down's and trisonomy-18) and she says to me "When are you going to relax and enjoy this preg?" (PS - test was fine).
I guess I am a bit jaded and skeptical (and horomonal because that is always an easy excuse) from my IF issues that I feel like nothing is a sure thing. I had a friend who had no IF issues m/c at 17 weeks so maybe that's it?
So I spent last night crying, feeling guilty that I am not some overly happy preg woman glowing to the world. I am excited, I am happy, and I am scared. With all the unknown questions and stress of the IF stuff I guess I learned to not take anything as a sure thing....
Thanks for letting out this here. The preg board didn't seem right. I know I am lucky and blessed to be in my situation but don't fret when it comes your time if this happens to you. Cautiously optimistic is how I would like to be described thank you very much!

Re: When it comes your time...
I know exactly how you feel. the Met/Clomid/IUI combo worked for me too but unfortunately I miscarried (6 weeks) but like you I was so worried all the time. I do know that if I get PG again I will probably not enjoy my pregnancy until after 3 months. Honestly your at the 14 week mark and I hope that you will start enjoying your pregnancy. It's easier said than done but don't beat yourself up. I'm praying that you have an easy journey during the rest of your pregnancy and try not to worry, everything will be fine.

Re: When it comes your time...
It is very unusual to have a loss after 12 weeks. I think something like 75% of all m/c happens before 12 weeks. You can relax!

Re: When it comes your time...
I know how you feel. I know someone who is going through something like this (and you know who you are -- ehem) and I completely understand.
I hope you can relax and enjoy your pregnancy, but its something you have to come to terms with by yourself. Melijane is right, its very unusual to miscarry after 12 weeks, so you can rest a little easier. I just hope you can enjoy it and I feel bad that you're not.
Good luck to you.

Re: When it comes your time...
I got preggo the same way as you. I am only at the 8 week mark though, and SO SO VERY nervous. Although I try to focus on the fact that the baby is measuring perfectly, and has a strong heartbeat, I wish I could hear it every day for reassurance. It's a scarey time, but do try to enjoy it.
Yesterday after U/S I told my family. That allowed me to enjoy it a bit. Of course in telling them I included the warning, of it's still early, but at least you know, so if something happens you will understand my sadness.
Worrying is normal....I doubt it EVER stops for as long as you are a parent, but try to enjoy some of the good stuff too

Re: When it comes your time...
It sux having dealt with IF and not being able to enjoy your pregnancy. I don't blame you, I would probably be the same way. I hope that you are able to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

Re: When it comes your time...
Dh said the same thing to me many times.
The guilt of not being 100% overjoyed almost killed me , it hurt to feel so guilty. When I saw my good friends over here still fighting and I would even think to be miserable.
BUT...honestly...The PG bliss doesnt really always come for those who had to fight to get there. We are still filled with fear and what if's and I think thats totally normal in the end.
The first 12-15 weeks I couldnt even accept it because I was afraid of a loss. ( but I had late losses in the past )...
I think you are very normal and Try not to beat yourself up over it.
No one will doubt what this baby means to you.

Lulugirl reminded me why don't you order a fetal heart monitor? I'm sure someone on here or pregnancy can recommend one
