I also O'd late on clomid. Day 20 the frist time and I had to take the trigger the 2nd time at around day 21.

Ok, here's what I'm going through which seems similar to you:
I was started on 50mg of clomid CD3 for 5 days. I went in for sono and trigger on CD 12 but had no mature eggs, so they did not do the trigger.
Got a call from the nurse later that day and they started me on 100mg of Clomid that day. I am not on my fourth day of 100mg clomid and will be going back in on Thursday for another sono and possible trigger.
So I'm not sure if I've just started another cycle or if I'm still in the same cycle? I to have to start asking more questions about the size, etc. I will let you know what I find out Thurs!
