When starting fruits...Q (added Q)

How much do you give (stage 1)

We started pears this week & I was giving her 1/2 the little container mixed w/ 2 TBSPNs of cereal.

Is that too little? Too much? Just right?

She eats it all no problem & then a 7 oz bottle.

ETA: she's 6 months & about 19 lbs

PS---when do you increase it to the entire little container?

That is pretty much what we did. Pears & apples first is what my Ped recommended as well.

I'm sure that's fine. DS was eating stage 2's by 6 months.

Thats what we did!

DD is up to a whole jar of food- and still drinks 6.5 oz of formula about an hour or so after!

Re: When starting fruits...Q (added Q)

my dr told us to do 1/4 container for the first two days then you can do 1/2 container for the third and eventually and entire container. He also said since my DD is pretty petite he would go slower than what he normally tells people b/c she probably wont eat that much and he was right. We still only do about 1/4 container per feeding.

We are giving fruits now - started this month - DD was 17 lbs 3oz last visit and has gained exactly 1 lb a month so I expect her to be 18lbs when she goes again on the 22nd. DD doesn't eat much but the ped said to give fruit once a day up to 2 tablespoons. She only eats 1/2 to 1 tablespoon though - but she does like it. Cereal on the other hand is another story - she will barely eat that at all.
