When the whole house gets sick at the same time..Best way to Disinfect?

I'm so overwhelmed at this thought.

My 2 girls and I all got sick at the same time. They had vicious colds complete with coughs, head congestion and some vomitting, me i just have the sore throat from hell. This past week has been brutal.

What's the best way to disinfect my whole house?

I was going to throw all their hard plastic toys in the tub with some hot water and bleach, use lysol wipes on the bigger stuff, but how in the hell do i wash all the surface clean only stuff?

I don't want them to get sick again, i just want a healthy house.

Any ideas or ways to do this more efficiently and faster?

Oh and to complicate things more, i'm still under the weather and my parents are coming tomorrow to visit for the weekend.

One thing that I do is to get down to their level...usually on my hands and knees and spray things with lysol to cut down on germs. Then just do my usual cleaning...

When you spray with the lysol spray, do you rinse/wipe off after it dries?

Clorox everywhere. You don't have to rinse.

Wipe cabinets doors and handles, door handles, toys.

Open some windows.

Even if it's just for 10 minutes and you have to crank up the heat.

I'm going through the same thing right now. I feel like everything is covered in yuck. Chat Icon

i wouldnt bother- not because im gross or anything, but because if u have all gotten sick, now u all have the antibody for that particular virus, and u cant get that again....and viruses/bacteria dont live that long unless they have a host, so "germs" on the toys and stuff with die with like, 24-48 hours or something lilke that...

I agree with PP, if you are all sick, there is no need to disinfect, you cannot reinfect yourselves.

If you think things are too gross or if other children play with your DCs, then yes, cleaning may be worthwhile. I would just use ordinary soap and water. It's enough and less toxic than bleach and lysol. JMO.
