when they transition to 1 nap a day, what do you mean when you say they "fight" naps?

does it mean they don't get tired until later on in the day?
or they DO get tired, but they refuse to sleep?
i'm trying to figure out if i should still be putting her down after 2-3 hours of being up or if i should let her stay awake and see how long she'll go for.
she's got a cold/ear infection thing now thats SO MUCH FUN. its messing with her naps/sleep so i thought i'd ask.

My DD rarely takes a morning nap anymore - the daycare teachers tell me they try everything to get her to sleep and she just squirms around and laughs at them. Ultimately she usually ends up being the only kid awake during morning nap time so she gets to play with everything After lunch she is exhausted and falls asleep right after her bottle and sleeps for 2+ hours. She naps all the time on the way to school (in the car) and catnaps on the way home so she ends up with enough daytime sleep.
So to more directly answer your question, sometimes she is tired but fights it because she wants to stay up and play, but more often than not she has slept in the car in the early morning and just isn't tired enough to go down yet. She will be 9 mo in a few weeks.
HTH somewhat!
