When to get Homeowner's Insurance quotes?
Will the mortgage broker tell me when to do this?
Should I be researching now?
We haven't gone to contract yet.

I waited until after I went to contract to get a few insurance quotes. Just make sure you have a lot of details on the house, including square footage, etc.
My insurance agent told me to call them about 2 weeks before I close to set it all up, so that is what I will do.

we knew who we were going to use in advance because our insurance broker with Nationwide is DH's friend from HS. That being said, we priced things and began the process about a 2 weeks after contract signing, but we had a very short closing period. Just a 6 weeks.
