When to give solids..
I give DD baby food, and gerber puffs but at what age should I give her "real" food..pastina, yogurt, chicken,? She has a bunch of teeth I think 7 now and she just turned 9 months. I am terrified of chocking so I avoid giving her anything other than baby food. My sister laughs at me because I still cut my nieces food into tiny pieces when I am around her and she is 7.

Re: When to give solids..
eggs you just give the yolk right? she missed her 6 month check up so she went at 7 and does not go back untill 10 months. I want to try new things Should I ask my dr. first or do you think it would be ok?

Re: When to give solids..
I'd check with the PED, there are so many varying answers.
We got the ok at her 9 month visit, but dd doesn't really "chew" or mash with her gums yet. I have her chicken and she just s u cked on it, it wound up on the roof of her mouth after an hour i had to go get it :) But she eats puffs and cherios no problem :)
I say go by your DD's cues, if she chews and mashes with her gums, i'd try it.
