when to send invites(edited:one more question and pic added)
With all these first b-day's coming up in the next few months we should start a b-day thread.
How far in advance are you sending or have you send the invites?

I usually send them out a month before the RSVP date(which is usually about 1-2 weeks before the party...
So they'll go out the middle of August

take a deep breath, everything will work out, the only reason I am sending them now is because It is Labor Day weekend.. Almost everyone knows when it is anyway..
I second Sutton Place-- They have an upstairs room and we had my FIl suprise 60th there... The food was pretty good...

Another question ..
I wanted to do a surfing theme I saw an invite on a website that includes a pic of the baby with a "surf's Up" theme. Does he have to be wearing a surfing outfit in the pic or could I use the one in my avatar with the hat?

You could use any picture you want. Your son is so adorable that any picture would be great.
I had a Luau theme for my son's first birthday. I used this picture for his invitation:

That was my fear also (with the Hibiscus flowers). But it is so Hawaiian and looks so cute. Your invitation looks really nice...I'd keep it!!
I used the picture I posted and made (out of construction paper) Hawaiian shirts (with a collar and cuffs on the sleeves). I used the picture on the front of the shirt. They came out really cute.
The Hawaiian theme is so much fun. If you need decorations, Oriental Trading has TONS!!!! Have fun!
