When will it go away? I keep replaying the accident last night
All day in my head, I keep replaying the god awful THUD noises, then his scream and then the blood on his face in my head after DS fell down the stairs last night and the "what couldve beens" are terrifying me. I know its over and thank god, hes OK. But I cant stop replaying it, it was so scary. Anyone elses DC had an accident and you just keep going over and over it in your head?

Not my DC, but the same thing happened to my BFF's DD right in front of me..it was horrible to witness, and to this day I still sometimes think about it. But she's ok, and so is your DS, and that's all that matters.

Re: When will it go away? I keep replaying the accident last night
I know how you feel. When DS was 2 1/2 mo. old he rolled off my king size sleigh bed (which is higher than most beds) flat onto our wood floor. I almost died...I thought he was going to have brain damage and rushed him to the hospital hysterical crying. And guess what, he is perfectly fine! But to this day, and DS just turned 2, I still replay that moment over in my head every so often and I get very upset thinking about the "what ifs" It was the worst day of my life and my worst mommy moment but he will have more accidents and more bumps and bruises...I have lost count.

Yes - MONTHS ago Jack went flying face first into a bedrail and Behrs - split his lip open and was full of blood. I still replay it in my head.

Noah fell off our bed as baby and the thump and how he was lethargic afterwards stayed in mind for a few days. It did wear off, I swear

Re: When will it go away? I keep replaying the accident last night
I know how you feel, my story is a little different though... I was in the backyard gardening with my son, he was 2.5 years old at the time. My yard is fenced in so I never really worried too much in the backyard. I was planting, when I stood up and didnt see him, so I immediately look over and the gate is open. Somehow he opened the gate. I ran out and just started screaming. My husband came flying out of the house. We had taken a walk that morning and the wagon was in front of the house. My son was walking up the block with the wagon. The worst part is that we lived very close to montauk hwy. He was literally a few house from montauk. I was so sick... I actually threw up. I couldnt stop thinking about what could have happened. What would he have done when he got to the corner.

You won't forget but you will get past it.
My nephew fell down the basement stairs to a concrete floor at 8 months. Although he was perfectly fine, it took a while for my sister to get over too.
