I don't think there's necessarily an ideal time. Of course, I wouldn't do too early or too late (big help Chat Icon ). It's up to the individual or those throwing her shower.

Mine was held at 36 weeks--there were no drawbacks at all. Well, except for it was August 6th and it was outdoors Chat Icon

30 -32 weeks seems ideal to our family.

Mom looks noticably pregnant but is still feeling good and somewhat comfy also the sex in most cases has been confirmed.

Nicole,
Have it early. Especially since you start to feel
uncomfortable towards the end. Also you may get doubles and have to return stuff. It's harder to go out to the stores later in pregnancy.

I would say anytime after 30 weeks.

As someone who had brought her baby to the shower, I would say 33 weeks or earlier.

i had mine at 30 weeks - my mom wanted to do it during the summer so she had time to plan it and all (she is a teacher!)

it worked out great b/c we had plenty of time to set up stuff, return doubles, etc.

I had mine at 36 weeks. We are very superstitious. I wanted it later than that. I had DD at 39w4d's

Mine was thrown when I was 32 weeks. It gave me enough time to put stuff together and wash all the clothing.
