When you are an invited guest.....
do you ever pack a goody bag of stuff and leave with it?!?!?
My SIL packed a goody bag of stuff that someone else (ME!!!!) brought to my parents house. I am astounded that she didn't ask. First of all the dish I made wasn't exactly cheap and it wasn't even her house!!!!!!
I'm fuming but DH says I'm over reacting..... what do you all think?

Re: When you are an invited guest.....
No, I don't!
I feel the hosts sometimes want to be polite and offer leftovers. I only do it when they start "begging" me. I tell them that they could freeze the leftover and remind them of the events/things they have to do with kids or other obligations in the following week. That usually works and they say "oh yes, I forgot I won't have time to cook".
I NEVER take leftovers unless being ask to.

Re: When you are an invited guest.....
I NEVER do that!!!!
That is TACKY... I mean, sometimes the host/hostess will offer it and REALLY offer it and you know they mean it like "please, just take the leftover cake- i'm on a diet, i can't have it in the house, etc" and I can understand one taking it... However, I have never done that.
But to pack a goody bag?!

take it as a compliment--she really liked what you brought!

Re: When you are an invited guest.....
if its offered, and if theres extra food, it usually is.
If I make a dish and theres extra, I wouldnt bring it home unless I offered to share it.

Only at my mom's or my sister's. And that is usually because they insist.

Re: When you are an invited guest.....
I guess I am even more ticked off because I was leaving it for my parents, and now all they have leftover is all meat and no veggies. Not like my parents are poor, but lately I feel very protective of them. Completely unrelated, just venting.
