In the room.... The hospital wanted to verify that you had a carseat before they let you leave the maternity ward.

We did it at the curb and had no idea what we were doing. It was hilarious. I think we got her in ok but it was only a three block drive so we weren't that concerned. Wish we did it in the room...

I noticied that also. Then the DH was always struggling putting them into the car.

In the room. The nurse even made sure he was buckled in properly, then came out to the car with us and made sure he was secured properly in the car as well. She stayed with us till the moment we pulled away.

In the car. When I had Sarah the nurse told me that legally I wasn't allowed to bring her out of the hospital in the car seat. We didn't even bring it up for Andy.

same here.
I had to be wheeled out holding DD both times...

In the room. Both hospitals I was at checked the carseat in the room to make sure they were strapped in right. I guess if we didn't use an infant seat they would have had to follow us out. I live in Ca though. I also had 2 of my kids on a military base hopsputal.

Funny, i was watching it this morning too and thought the same thing because they were saying how they were so confused by it and the poor mother was bent down from the wheelchair trying to figure it out.

We strapped her in the carseat in the room. Then we walked down with the nurse, who waited with me & DD while DH got the car.
