In the room, but he was born in December and it would be too cold to put him in at the car.
Ditto. I didn't even think about doing it at the curb.

Guess I'm different. I did it in the lobby. DH went downstairs a few minutes before me to pull the car around then he met us in the lobby w/the carseat. The woman that wheeled me down helped us adjust the straps.
We also did it in the lobby.

Re: When you brought DC home from the hospital...
I was wheeled out by a nurse and then we put the babies into their car seats as we got into the car. Kind of hard to do with two.

Re: When you brought DC home from the hospital...
they (Huntington Hospital) wouldn't discharge me until they saw me put the baby in the infant seat and then checked it.

At the car. We were clueless!!! Luckily, somebody noticed a few days later that we had the straps too loose. Thank God they told us and we weren't in an accident before that. ANother reason why I hated our hospital. Wish they had told us to bring it in.

In our room. Then DH carried her out to the car while I was pushed along side in a wheel chair.

Re: When you brought DC home from the hospital...
I'm amazed by all these "in the room" responses. We were not allowed to do that. We had to put her in the carrier in the car.

Re: When you brought DC home from the hospital...
Stonybrook made us go to the nurse's station and be officially discharged. They had to remove the baby lo-jack from DD's belly-button and they put her in the carseat and then they called for someone to wheel us out.

In the car. When I had Sarah the nurse told me that legally I wasn't allowed to bring her out of the hospital in the car seat. We didn't even bring it up for Andy.
They told us the opposite, that the security guard had to check it before we left the hospita (and check that he was our baby too!)
