well dd was only 16 months but my mom had bougnt her her own baby boy doll. I also gave her a minnie mouse doll because she is obsessed with minnie.

We got her a big sister necklace from Etsy from all of us.

I am going to get something for sure, but will get it closer to my due date. I am getting her a baby doll ahead of time so she can start taking care of it and so she has her own baby to care for when the baby comes.

At the moment I am thinking it will be something Mickey Mouse - that is her current obsession.

I just bought DD a really cute personalized tote at CafePress.com. It says Big Sis with her name. I also got her a t shirt that says, "Newly Made Big Sister". Going to fill the tote with a few goodies and give it to her at the hospital.

Also, DH and I are planning on a special day just for her before her little brother arrives. We are going to make her a special breakfast, take her to Build A Bear to make a special friend, and then let her decide what she wants to do with us all day and where we eat for dinner. We want her to have a really fun and memorable last "only child" day before the baby comes and changes everything. I think she will love it!!!

My DD is very into necklaces right now. I bought her a big sister necklace from Etsy and a little jewlery box from target.

Just need to think of something for ds now.

yes, my daughter was just about 5.
The baby got her a DS (she had never had any handheld game before)

It worked out perfect, because the car ride was about 30 minutes away, and she came up for afternoon and evening visits. Plus, 'if' she got bored at the hospital it worked out well too.

We also did gifts from my older daughter to the baby. We didn't know if we were having a boy or girl, so we had her pick out a little sister and a little brother outfit and a few other things - like a bath towel, toys for the car seat, etc. All things she picked out ahead of time.

I;m due any day now and I ordered DS a big brother shirt and some yo gabba toys bc he is in love with the show. I wanted to get him something that he will love as opposed to books he will rip.

Yes, a big Melissa & Doug coloring book/pad and crayons. She loved it, and it kept her busy coloring while she was visiting us in the hospital.

We got her a lot of gifts. We made her a build a bear from the baby, lots of Dora toys,new clothes. We didn't want her to feel bad when the baby got new gifts and age didn't. I pre-wrapped things and had them on hand when people came over.

DC1 got a fish. It was more of a "bribe" so DH could get her to leave the hospital without me so she wouldn't freak out.

Other people also brought little gifts for her (a doll, a crayola musical coloring thing)

We did. DD1 got something when DS was born and then DD1 and DS got something when DD2 was born.

Just big brother scrubs, but wouldn't really consider it a gift from the baby. DS was 2 yrs old at the time. He was spoiled with tons of gifts at the hospital and when he came home from family and friends.
To answer the question... Nope, nothing. Lol

Just a couple of coloring books and she was happy as a clam! I think we might have also gotten her a big sister book before the baby came.
