When you found out
your were pregnant, did any of you wait to tell anyone? What about your parents. When and if the time comes for me, DH wants us to wait to tell our families. I am not sure this is a good idea. I understand not telling the entire family, but he wants to wait to tell our parents.
What are your opinions?

When the time comes, your gonna want to shout it out to everyone!!
We told our parents and of course everyone that comes on here! I waited a little bit to tell my friends and such but I think everyone pretty much knew when I was around 10 weeks.

There was no way I could keep it a secret!! My mom and my close cousins knew I was having an IUI so when my 2 week wait was up, 1 of my cousins was calling to see if i knew anything yet...plus when I saw the BFP, Dh was not home so I called my mom crying because I was shocked that my IUI took.

We told our parents and some immediate family at about 7/8 weeks. We told a few close friends around 10 weeks and everyone else 12 weeks plus.

Thats what I said to him that we could do and then I got - we'll wait til the times comes (meaning - he doesnt want to discuss it anymore) Oh Well!

Wait Yeah Right...There was no way this big mouth was keeping the BFP I got a secret...Everyone knew with in a few days after my first Dr's appointment which was a week after I took the test

See thats how I feel - I am 32 - these people have been waiting my whole life to hear that I am - so why make them wait?

We told our parents & siblings right away. After my first doctor's appt, we told our immediate family. I think at around 10 wks, we told all of our friends.

I think this is something that he is thinking about and feel we shouldn't say anything until we know that everything will be ok.
I don't know why this really is stuck in my mind, it isn't like we are preggo - yet

My DH also wanted to wait out the "required" 12 weeks. I wanted to call channel 12 news and air it every hour. We had a miscarriage @ 10 weeks but when we got PG again I decided it didn't matter who we told - those who I'd share my happiness in being PG with were the same people I'd want to share my sorrow with if something happened again.

I was going to wait because I was told that I would quite possible have problems keeping the baby because of a hormone problem but when I found out I had to tell everyone.. I figured that way everyone could keep me in their thoughts and prayers. I think all of the support I got during the 12 week wait made my PG go by a lot easier.

We waited to tell only because we were living in Ireland and were meeting my parents in 4 weeks in Paris for their 30th anniversary. So we wanted to tell them in person. It was very hard and if we were home, I would have told my parents and close friends right away. There is no way I would be able to hold it in if I had to see everyone in person.

Ditto... first pregnancy I told my family, his family and our close friends, and though I miscarried, I have no regrets in telling them because they are the same people that I leaned on during that tough time... I don't think I would have made it through as gracefully without them. So, when we got pregnant again, I told all the same people because I desperately needed their support during the first few terrifying weeks of this pregnancy...
