When you paid for your state certificates,
how long did it take to arrive?
I paid last night and forgot how long they take to arrive.

did you apply through your college? It shouldn't be too long if you did. If you did like I did and applied on my own (I thought I would save time by not trekking to Queens College), they say it can take 18 WEEKS! After the 18 weeks, I called and they said it was on someone's desk and it would be 2 weeks tops. 4 weeks later, they told me the same thing, 4 weeks later, same thing (I kid you not!)
Finally my school got involved (I had a classroom cert already) and expedited the process and it took 2 days after I went to Queens College and did it the easy way!

don't worry MissJones.... it's your permenant or professional one, right? i did mine on-line and got it less than 6 weeks. your first certificate or the ones contingent on having you endorsed by the College (before you're in the system as a teacher) is what takes forever.

Thank you! Yes, it's my permanent. I have my perm. el. ed and sp. ed, but this was my third certificate and I have heard so many mixed things about my status that I just want that piece of paper in my hands!

i paid for mine last August... I still have not received it... online it says it is waiting for my masters trascript... but i sent that in MONTHS ago!! I have no clue who to even call to see what is taking so long...

Is it a different certificatation? B/c I had my classroom certification and I went into a special area - that's the one that took forever.
My permanant teaching one came quick though.
You can check the TEACH section of the NYSDOE for status

I was told you have to do it on your own now if its a prem cert...prof cert you apply through the school, which one are you getting?
