When you switched to milk...

How many ounces were they drinking per day. At 10 months it looks like DD only want 3 bottles. And I'm making the 2nd a sippy cup now during the day with just 4 ounces. She seems to be drinking about 16 ounces a day - if that. Is that okay?

Re: When you switched to milk...

i was wondering the same thing. my dd is about the same age and probably doesn't drink more than that a day also. Although we're doing formula now (she pretty much weaned herself, she doesn't like to sit still and nurse anymore :( ) my ped says she should get 24 oz, but my dd just doesn't want to drink that much.

I'd love to hear some replies too!

Re: When you switched to milk...

Well at 1 year my daughter wasn't eating well and the doctor said to limit the milk to 20 oz a day. Besides, I believe there is only a certain amount of calcium they can absorb and most of their nutrients should be coming from food at a year. So not sure if that helps since your child is 10 months.

Re: When you switched to milk...

Thanks. She seems to be more interested in food than bottles lately. So I'm trying to add in an extra meal to take the bottles place. She's 21 pounds at 10 months so she's certainly not deprivedChat Icon

Re: When you switched to milk...

My 11 month old only drinks 12 ounces a day, at the most. She's not a big milk drinker. She eats well though so I am not too concerned.

Re: When you switched to milk...

At about 11 months, DD would only take 2 8oz. bottles a day (16 oz total). She was more interested in eating food, then she was in drinking bottles. We just made the switch to milk, but I took away the bottles this past week, so we are now just on sippy cups.

Yep at 9 1/2 months. Formula was just too damn expensive Chat Icon . But my ped switches them at 10 months anyway so I did it when we ran out of formula at 9 1/2. I started with 1 ounce milk and 3 ounces of formula. Then the same day did 2 and 2. And the next day I pretty much just switched to milk. She adjusted well. Her poops didn't though Chat Icon . Sorry if TMI but they were orange and soft. Now they are still a little light but back to normal consistency. I am not used to this much pooping though! She went from once a day to 4 to 5 times a day. I think my diaper cost is going to replace the formula cost.Chat Icon
