When your DC first started cereal...
Bella started cereal yesterday and I have a few questions.(what else is new?)
1) We only started her with a tablespoon and she only took half. This is ok, right?
2)I went to feed her this morning. I gave her a 6 oz bottle and then was going to feed her cereal. She drank the bottle but didn't want the cereal. She was probably full. Should I decrease the amount of the bottle if I am also giving her cereal? So instead of 6 oz, maybe 4 or 5 oz then cereal.
Any advice will help. I feel like such a dummy! Thanks!

Go at it slowly. I would give the cereal before the bottle, or if she is crying that she is hungry, I give half the bottle, then give the food, and then finish the bottle.

Re: When your DC first started cereal...
We started DD with 3 tbsp of cereal. She ate the whole thing, but with her that was no big surprise
Our ped said to give her the cereal first, followed with a bottle. She will stop eating the bottle when she is full, and her eating habits may change.
DD always ate all of her cereal and fruits/veggies, followed by a 6 oz bottle - and she still does!
Try giving her the cereal first - about 15 minutes before when she would normally have her next bottle - if she is too hungry, she will just get frustrated that the food isn't coming fast enough.
HTH!

I leave a little time between feeding solids and a bottle. If not, it's just too much for their little bellies. It's fine that DD only ate half. It's not as easy as you would think in the beginning. It's all new to them. She'll get there!
