I recently went to Crash Mansion in the Bowery area and absolutely loved it...they played a wide array of music and the place was packed......went around midnight though. The dress code was kinda dressy, though some of the girls wore practically nothing.
Webster Hall is always a favorite too.....

the dress code varies. it's a lounge/restaurant with great pickin's and drink upstairs. I want to say the dancefloor opens up at like 9 pm.
I usually go after work on a Friday...so I'd say nice jeans/heeled shoes/boots, sexy/sweet/nice top.
it's not crazy or over the top or hard to get in to. the music is good. mixed crowd (more fun, less "I'm on the market for a bf/gf/date downstairs) I am not a big fan of the upstairs crowd. too "I want to be a New Yorker like Sex and the City and sip martini's" for me...if you understand me at all LOL

I love Manahatta but it can be hard for guys to get in if they are not evenly paired with ladies, just something to keep in mind if you are going with a big group.

I see this when I am leaving.
if you get there early (after work, for dinner) you shouldn't have a problem.

have you had the french fry sampler?  and the mango mojitos!!!
it's not cheap, btw...speciatly drinks are like $14

I never ate there, only drank  The drinks are not cheap there. Now that I think of it, I am not sure if the downstairs is open early either. I remember being there early one night and the downstairs was closed till like 11 or something. I don't remember if that was a weekday or weekend, it was a long time ago so they may not even do that anymore.
