Where can I buy a really nice desk?
Hi,
Where do people suggest I go look for a nice desk? It's for our guest room which will eventually have a desk, bookcase, and sofa (sofa bed i think).
I really need a desk in there but want one that looks like a piece of furniture (if that makes sense). Not too minimalist, more pottery barn like but not with a pottery barn price tag. I just can't imagine paying $800 for a desk.
Any suggestions would really be appreciated. I looked online at Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, and Restoration Hardware - high prices rule them out.

i was going to suggest Ballard. after scouring Thomasville, Ethan Allen, RH, PB, and C&B...we decided to go with Ballard on a few key pieces.
and so far, all of the pieces we've purchased from them have been great. definitely great prices and the quality is pretty good...I would say on par with some of the more $$ places.
we have the day bed/trundle, and we JUST received our order of 4 chairs for the living room. everything is sturdy, comfy and it great condition.
we've also gotten a few accent pieces as well. I am very pleased with them for the $$ we spent. definitely check them out.
and Jenn, that desk you posted is LOVELY!

Crate and Barrel definitely has some cheaper ones. I have the loop desk which I like was only $225 or so. I have the file cabinet and hutch that go with it too. I actually got it to go with my pottery barn living room furniture because it's in that room but didnt want to spend the money on an expensive pottery barn one and the style of them go together pretty well.
