Where can I get a shadow box done?
We have the original key to my Grandpa's old bakery and want to have it framed in a shadow box for my Mom. Any ideas where I can get this done?

They sell the shadow boxes in Michael's and AC Moore. You can probably get some vintage looking scrapbooking paper, adhere it to the "back" part of the frame and use hot glue to attach the key. It is probably easy and if you made it, it would be even more sentimental.

Thanks so much! I'm not crafty at all and would never think to do that on my own. I'll go look and see. My SIL is good with this stuff so maybe I'll buy the goods and she can do the work! Or, I can just do it and it'll remind my Mom of when I was 5 and made her gifts

I have made several for DH's UFC stuff. It is very easy to do. They sell beautiful ones at Michaels.

Ya know...parents LOVE that stuff. I am pretty crafty, and my family knows it, so every year I HAVE to hand-make a small Christmas gift to give to my mom, grandma and aunt. It was getting a little hokey after a while. But then I had my own kids and now THEY make the crafts (this year it's a hand-painted wooden family tree with pics made by my 5 1/2 and 2 1/2 year old sons).
I bet your mom would LOVE it! You can paint the frame also...in her favorite color, or a color to match the vintage paper. You can also add other touches...maybe old pics of your Grandpa, his bakery, him and your mom together. Make it really personal. And you HAVE to post pics after you've made it! Good luck! If you need any help, please feel free to FM me.
