The two best places I know of on the south shore are
The Whistle Stop Bake Shop in Oceanside and
The Malverne Pastry Shop in Malverne.
Both are a little ways from you, but proably worth the drive. Oh, there is also the Front Street Bakery in Rockville Centre.

there is a restaurant in Lindenhurst called yazoo city that has a pie called Sleepyhollow that is pumpkin and unreal.
I dk where else..I drag myself to Briermere.

I agree.. I just went there today to pick up an Apple Crumb pie for THanksgiving.. it is wonderful!!! Don't forget to get some cider as well!

There is a place in Massapequa called Kirsch's.... They make the best homemade pies... They are on Central Avenue in massapequa right by the train station

That's so funny, I actually just thought of this place today. I've been there to eat but have never had any of their desserts. Thanks!

Oh their desserts are awesome... i think you have until 9:00 pm Tuesday night to order pies... We used to get coconut custars, pumpkin and Apple. now we sometimes get The coconut. I make the pumpkin and apple now
