where can i take a box of financial papers to be shredded?
I've been cleaning out our home office and I have two boxes of personal docs that I need to get rid of. Normally i would just send them to work with DH little by little but I can't send him with two boxes!
I've heard Brookhaven town offers a service but I think its only once it twice a year. Does Staples or Office Max do this?

i think cintas does this. dont know if you need an account tho. i know there are other companies out there. i think something like shred it or something is one

I thought Office Max did. Check there. You can always just buy a shredder for your home too. I got a great one at Target for like $70 and I shred all of my own stuff at home. I find it easier that way.

The Office Max in Sayville (Kmart & BRU shopping center) does it for sure. They charge like 50 cents a pound (maybe less) and they have a company come and shred it. They can even give you a certificate that it was shredded.

I would be careful about leaving your valuable papers to Office Max. If you do a google search about it there were many upset people whose papers never got shredded and were just left out in the trash. I would either go to a place where you see them do it in front of you or get a shredder for your house.

Aw, geez, now I'm worried again. I'm going to call them in the AM and see if I can drop it off while the shredding people are there but I have a feeling they're going to send it out.

There's a shipping store in Kings Park that has been advertising its spring shredding event. So I know they do it (on Pulaski Road).

I had this same problem a few months ago. I ended up shredding it myself. Took a few days but it gave me peace of mind.
Not sure where you are located but here is a company in Bohemia that shreds while you wait. All Compliance Shredding
