Where Do You Buy Art?
Hi all! Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying thier houses and house hunting. I am loving my house... we bought a new fridge and its amazing what a few coats of paint and some pretty window treatments can do but some of my walls are so bare. Where can I find nice paintings or prints? I tried IKEA last night but nothing "fit". Any suggestions?

homegoods, tjmaxx and marshalls are great for art but IMO, the frames are somtimes really cheap looking.

barewalls.com
I was in Costco yesterday and they had a "starving artists" section with some gorgeous stuff. There are also often starving artists sales all around the area. A little more pricey but you might find something original that you love.

Re: Where Do You Buy Art?
Most of my friends are artists, so I don't ever have to buy my pieces, they usually give us some for special occassions

Re: Where Do You Buy Art?
I second Home Goods. Also try Art.com. I picked out a picture from there for my liingroom and had it matted and framed at Michaels. You can also have it matted and framed on the website, but I chose not to.

Re: Where Do You Buy Art?
I've bought a number of prints at homegoods. In addition to Rockville Centre (on N. Village) there is also one in Port Jefferson Station, off of 347. And there's one my the Home Depot design center in Suffolk- but I can't remember the name of the town. This is definately a good place to get started.
Over time, I have also started collecting art on my vacations which I have had framed at Michaels.

Re: Where Do You Buy Art?
I usually try IKEA but it's hit or miss and Home Goods. I have on occasion found a painting or two at Marburn Curtain framed for next to nothing, but a warning, they have a really tiny selection. You have to get lucky. They've had a lot of Monet and Van Gogh if you like them great if not then I might not bother.
AC MOORE too has very inexpensive prints and frames separately that keeps the cost down.
