Where do you buy dressy clothes?
I know I'm early in, but my clothes just don't fit right anymore. I can't wear regular pants at all. I have a party this Saturday and a big dinner out next Friday. I wanted something dressy to wear...that I could use later if necessary. Any ideas?

Re: Where do you buy dressy clothes?
I had the same issue early on and went into maternity clothes rather than buy regular clothes in one size up...if I'm going to have to buy it/wear it soon anyway. I would suggest a nice pair of black pants that can be a workhorse in your wardrobe...try a Destination Maternity or Motherhood store. I love the Gap maternity though, but most of it is online shopping (few stores carry it). You could try Ann Taylor Loft too.

Re: Where do you buy dressy clothes?
Did you try the bella bands?
I bought a pair of maternity dress pants that were on sale, earlier on in the hopes of wearing them as I got bigger. They were super comfy and flattering, but now they do not fit as nice as they did when I first bought them. Keep that in mind......not just your belly may change (apparently my Butt and thighs have too ).
I would not invest in a lot in the beginning, maybe just some to get you through.

Re: Where do you buy dressy clothes?
I got a really nice pair of plain black pants at gap maternity and a couple of tops to go with them, one in black with sparkly bits around the neck which I thought was quite festive LOL. They also have a loo in the fitting room, which I thought was great as my bladder now seems to be the size of a peanut.

Re: Where do you buy dressy clothes?
I was just at the outlets in Riverhead today and the maternity store there (forgot the name) had a lot of nice dressy clothes. They even had 2 piece sets with a dressy top and black pants for $30! I already bought lots of "business casual" type clothes from Target and Old Navy, but for my shower and other fancier events I am definitely going back to that store!

Re: Where do you buy dressy clothes?
Gap has been the best so far (and I tried a lot of stores) They also carry a lot of pants in long. I feel like the gap as the closest thing to a real fit... most places not only is the belly bigger but the rest of the the leg and hip were too! Good luck

I'm not in maternity clothes yet, only wearing the Bella Band with some things, but my BTDT friends loved these sites:
Isabella Oliver
Pea in the Pod
Due Maternity

Re: Where do you buy dressy clothes?
definitely check out the maternity store at the outlets in Riverhead. They actually carry motherhood, pea in a pod and some of the other big brands. They have great prices and sales every week and a very good selection. I'm done buying new clothes as I'm due in a few weeks-- and baby is probalby coming sooner!! :) but I always found nice, dressy clothes for many of the events I had over the past several months and at good prices...hope that helps!

Re: Where do you buy dressy clothes?
Not for anything, most of us know someone who has had a baby not long ago... I got 2 tubs of maternity clothes from one of my friends. So far I'm carrying kind of small, and I'm an inch or 2 shorter than my friend, but I have her brother's wedding to go to in April, 3 weeks before my due date... my friend told me she has a black maternity dress I can borrow for the wedding. Seriously, I can't see spending millions on maternity clothes.
I have another friend who lent out her maternity stuff before I got PG. The other girl is due in January, my friend told me she will ask the other girl for the clothes back after the wedding to lend to me. This friend and I are the almost the exact same build. Just a different $$$ saving thought...
