where do you go to get your ultra screens/level II/growth?

I go to the woman center in Huntington hospital. when they found something with my level II they charged my insurance with me having a consultation which is crazy and I will not pay it-because they are now charging me a copay. When I ask the billing dept to clarify the charge they get nasty and hang up on me
Im not paying for something that they had no right for charging me for.
When I went back for the follow up to level II it was a diff dr & i wasnt satisfied that he knew what he was looking for & really want another opinion.

Last night I went to my dr (saw a diff dr in the practice) and asked her if i could go to madonna (where my sister went) she said she kind of fought me on sending me there and said she would leave a note for my reg ob to call me back.

Just wondering where you get your done. (if you dont mind sharing) and how was your experience??
(ps. I finally hit 1000!!)

The ultrascreen was done at Madonna. All other sonos (incl Level 2) are done at OB's office.

ETA: I was charged a $122 deductible for my Level 2. We have UHC.

It really depends on your doctor and their affiliation with Madonna, I'm sure not all practices use them.

Also, keep in mind that not all insurances will cover or fully cover a Level II sono. I would check with your ins provider and that may be why you received a bill.

my insurance covers all sonos.
my insurance would cover it if they called it an office visit. which i never received a consult so i think they are looking to get money for something they shouldn't have charged for

my office does all sonos/tests/bloodworkd etc. one of the (many) reasons I chose my OB

Doc's office. I feel it is much more personal. When I was PG with Abby, the brought in a perinatologist for Ultrascreens, Amnios and Level 2s. They now bring in a tech. For the Amnio, the tech runs the machine and tells my OB where to put the needle.

I got my ultrascreens done at Madonna, Level II at my regular OB. Not sure yet about my growth sono- haven't had it done yet.

I went to Madonna for my Level II and Down's Syndrome testing. No charge for the Level II. I was charged a copay for my consultation following the Down's Syndrome testing.
