I'm due in August and the thought of having it outside in a park sounded nice..like a BBQ type thing, but if it's really hot..I don't want the guests to be uncomfortable. Community room? Any other suggestions??

I am having mine at Pompei Restaurant on Hempstead Tpke. It is really reasonable and I am having about 100 women so they gave me the bigger room.

Well..it's not so much me..because if it were up to me..I would have had it in my Godparents house in New City. They have a house and a big backyard with a pool (perfect setting for August). It's my friends that are throwing this for me...and DH is included also. Not sure if you heard about my dilemma before, but people were complaining about the fact that we had over 100 people (men & women) and although we tried cutting the list..we can't. So...they are looking into a Community Room. Only problem is these community rooms have no A/C...so I think the guests are going to be IRRITATED.

hmm I see where it could be an issue..... I don't know the Bronx that well - admittedly I am a typical LI girl in that respect & only know the zoo & fordham..... maybe something in lower westchester might be worth a short drive to have A/C?Chat Icon

DH is a Police Officer in White Plains..I'm going to see if he can look into places also. There are diners/restaurants in yonkers as well that have rooms for these types of functions and they have A/C..LOL!

Thanks!!!

I remember this post but I couldn't remeber who posted because we are doing the same thing.

We got married in the Bahamas & on;y had 30 guests so we figured this will be the big blow-out with all of our family & friends. We are also planning about 100 people. I decided against any outdoor places because there will be no privacy & people tend to get dirty outside.

When are you planning it for? Mine will be sometime in July & my mother is going to price out a few places in queens soon so I'll let you know what she finds.

BTW, every person that I mentioned this 100-person shower idea has basically thought it was crazy.

My shower was also at Pompei, though it was only abou 30 people. They DO have larger rooms to acoomodate 100+ people.

ETA: the food is great!
